Process and Information

Note: If you are a UMassD Law student, a new international student, or are approved for an early arrival (fall semester athlete or selected ROC volunteer, for example) you should follow the move-in schedule sent you by your coach, supervisor, advisor or faculty member.

Immunization records

Immunization records must be up to date prior to your arrival and check in to campus housing.  In addition to standard residential health requirements, all students are required to have their COVID vaccine to live and take classes on campus. Please note that, in order to check in, all students must be fully vaccinated. This means two weeks after the final dose.

Students should go to the Health Services student portal to complete the online health history and to download/upload their immunization and TB risk assessment forms prior to moving to campus. Students who have questions regarding any acute illness or injury when Health Services is closed should call the RN Telephone Advice Line at 508-815-4588.

Dashboard arrival day permits

You must display the arrival day permit (sent to your UMassD email account) on your vehicle dashboard when arriving on-campus. Follow the directions of the road signage and all traffic control staff.  You will be placed in a staging parking lot upon your arrival and then called to your assigned building as soon as space is available near that building. You can expect to wait with your vehicle as much as one hour, depending on your established move-in time. Please do not use more than two parking permits.

Please do not arrive early!

You will not be permitted to enter the staging parking lots until one hour before your scheduled arrival/check-in time.

Unloading

When you arrive at your assigned building, unload all belongings into a provided bin. The vehicle's driver must move the unloaded vehicle to a space in one of the parking lots designated by the traffic control staff. Unattended vehicles left in the Unloading Zones will be towed at your expense. Students living on 1st or 2nd floors will be encouraged to use stairwells to avoid delays at the central building elevator.

Food & meals

Meal plans begins on your designated move in day.
