Professor Duncan was featured on EWTN News for Ruth Pakaluk’s cause for canonization

The Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) interviewed UMass Law Professor Dwight Duncan on his cause to canonize his friend Ruth V. K. Pakaluk, who was a wife, mother, and influential pro-life advocate. EWTN is a global, Catholic Television, Catholic Radio, and Catholic News Network that provides catholic programming and news coverage from around the world.

In December, the Vatican gave the Worcester Diocese permission to open the canonization cause of Ruth Pakaluk, who died of cancer in 1998 at age 41. Professor Duncan is the postulator of the pending cause, and as such, he is responsible to promote the cause for Ruth’s sainthood in the Roman Catholic Church by acting as the candidate's advocate and representative. In the interview, Duncan told EWTN, “My view is if God wants her canonized, she will be canonized in his time, and it could be soon.” In December, Professor Duncan discussed the canonization process with The Catholic Free Press and The Worcester Telegram. Professor Duncan has a canon law degree from Rome and teaches Constitutional Law and Religion and the Law at UMass Law.
