The number of projects completed by the Center for Marketing Research have more
than doubled since 1999. This includes grant-funded projects, service contracts,
pro bono work for area businesses and organizations, as well as for UMD groups.

budget of that organization/college at UMass Dartmouth.

The Center for Marketing Research provides research for many on campus organizations including
the Admissions Office, Career Services, the Gerontology Center, the MBA program and many others.

The Center for Marketing Research is committed to providing quality research to community
businesses and organizations that do not have the financial means to secure this service.
Approximately 25% - 35% of every semester project load is dedicated to pro bono work.

The Center for Marketing Research is now providing almost a half million dollars in marketing
research work per year. This is a conservative estimate given that our projects can range in value from
$15,000 - $80,000 depending on the work completed. All projects are sent out to a large research
company for appraisal. The estimates above are based on the $15,000 value.

The primary work done by the Center is fee based and pro bono projects to the outside community.

The Center for Marketing Research has one Director, a part-time Associate Director and Senior Research Associate.

Staff needs are met with graduate assistants and work study students.

The Center for Marketing Research began with no community associates in 1999. Seven associates
joined the Center in 2000, and the total grew up to 16 after that. Associates are given preference for
research projects, and most often create networking opportunities for the Center. Managing the Board
becomes significantly more challenging as it grows both in the number of associates and affiliation.
The Center has had local, regional, national and international companies represented on its board.

Each year the Center for Marketing Research and participating sponsors donate money to the
scholarship fund to be awarded to returning UMD marketing students.

CMR has enjoyed extensive publicity since its opening in 1999. The total number of
articles published throughout the region has been steadily increasing over the past seven years.

The Center for Marketing Research launched their website in January of 2002. Since then hits
have dramatically increased each year. The blog studies have brought visitors from all
over the world to the Web site.
