Issues in elder housing will be discussed at a policy forum for professionals, students, and consumers on Monday, November 26 from 2-4 p.m. in the Residence Dining Conference Room at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. The room is located across from the Campus Center with parking available in lot 5.
Program topics include: History of Public Housing in New Bedford, with Walter Jones, resident relations coordinator for the New Bedford Housing Authority; How Can We End Elder Homelessness? with Hope Watt, director of behavioral health and research, Committee to End Elder Homelessness; and Housing at the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, with Maggie Dionne, director of the EOEA’s housing and support services.
The Ora M. DeJesus Gerontology Center at UMass Dartmouth, the Gerontological Society of Southeastern New England, the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the Office of Elder Health, Massachusetts Department of Public Health are the forum’s sponsors.
