The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will welcome alumni back to campus for Homecoming Weekend 2002 on October 4, 5, and 6. 

Weekend highlights include: 

Friday, October 4 

6:30 p.m. Corsair Hall of Fame Induction and Banquet - White’s Restaurant, Westport. $30.00 per person; no tickets at the door. Contact the Athletics Department 508-999-8728 for more information. 

Four former athletes representing teams from 1965 through 1996, one of UMass Dartmouth’s first championship men’s golf teams and the late Kenneth Whitten will be inducted. The individuals are Bruce Violente (New Bedford Institute of Technology, ’65), Paul Freischlag (Gendron) (SMU ’86), David Hurley (SMU ’87) and Aaron Lee (UMass Dartmouth ’96). Kenneth Whitten was a long-time assistant ice hockey coach. The annual Corsair Hall of Fame team award will honor the 1962 men’s golf team from New Bedford Institute of Technology. 

7 p.m. Homecoming Bonfire and Pep Rally - Cedar Dell Field 

Saturday, October 5 

11 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.. Homecoming Day Block Party and Barbeque featuring musical entertainment provided by the “Celtic Pirates” an alumni Irish band. $15 pre-registration includes souvenir t-shirt, barbeque meal ticket, beverage coupon. 

1 p.m. Varsity Football. UMass Dartmouth Corsairs vs. Utica College at Bishop Stang High School. 

5 - 9 p.m. - Swain School of Design Reunion. Art Gallery, College of Visual and 
Performing Arts, main campus, $35 per person 

Sunday, October 6 

10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Alumni Awards Brunch, Campus Center. Alumni 2002 Awards presented this year will be to Coach Bruce Wheeler for university service, Mr. Donald Wood, Class of 1960 & 1970 for alumni service, Mr. Daniel Bogan for personal achievement, and Professor Les Cory, Class of 1963 for alumni employee award. $15.00 per person.
