SMAST is the location of a Basic safety and survival training workshop for commercial fishermen

What: Basic safety and survival training workshop for commercial fishermen

When: April 16 and May 7, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: School for Marine Science and Technology, UMass Dartmouth 
706 South Rodney French Boulevard 
South end of New Bedford

Who: Professional US Coast Guard certified instructors and active duty USCG personnel will conduct the marine training.

Professional firefighting personnel will conduct the fire training (New Bedford Police and Fire Departments have been notified).

How: After registration and opening remarks, trainees will attend four small-group sessions (45 minutes each) for hands-on training, ending with USCG helicopter air rescue demonstration.
