Promoting the Development of Portuguese Business Enterprises

Charlton College of Business in conjunction with the Center for Portuguese Studies announces a half-day workshop to be held on April 8.

North Dartmouth, MA -- The Charlton College of Business, the Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture and SOMWBA (State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance) will hold a half-day workshop entitled Promoting the Development of Portuguese Business Enterprises.  This workshop will offer information about opportunities available to Portuguese business owners under SOMWBA programs. Portuguese business owners are eligible for official designation of Portuguese Business Enterprise (PBE) for certain state contracts. 

The workshop is April 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the College's Conference Room. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. The program includes a presentation by a representative from SOMWBA and a roundtable discussion with representatives from three Portuguese-owned companies that have benefited from SOWMBA programs. Dr. Maria Gloria Mulcahy will address the issue of the Portuguese as a minority. The program will conclude with a question and answer period and lunch.
