Career Navigator Series: Applying for Internships & Jobs
This is the last workshop in a series of four workshops co-hosted by the Career Center and the College of Engineering to help graduate students as they start their career journeys. This session is focused on applying for jobs and internships.
Critically assess internship opportunities by identifying your goals (e.g., paid vs. unpaid, part-time vs. full-time, in-person vs. remote) and matching them to industry expectations and timelines.
This interactive workshop guides students through the internship application journey from preparations to offers. The session breaks down the application process, highlighting the importance of tailoring resumes and cover letters, meeting eligibility criteria, organizing application documents, and tracking deadlines. We also examine how to respond to offers and rejections, and how to use rejections as growth opportunities.
Career Center tools and strategies are woven throughout to ensure students can navigate applications with clarity and confidence.
