Carnaval Fest

Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 7:00pm to 11:00pm

Carnaval Festival is a cultural celebration highlighting the traditions, music, dance, and joy of Carnaval across Lusophone countries. Although traditionally celebrated either February or March, this out-of-season Carnaval Fest will feature music, dance, interactive activities and opportunities for attendees to engage with Lusophone traditions in an accessible and welcoming environment.

Carnaval is, for sure, one of the most significant and widely celebrated cultural holidays across luso-countries, with emphasis in Brazil, Portugal and Cape Verde (the ones we have representatives in UMD). It’s a time to celebrate community, resistance, identity and history!

This event is organized and hosted by Lusophone Student Union, a club for students made by students. All our meetings and events are open to the entire UMass Dartmouth community, including students, faculty and staff.
