Getting Started with Qualtrics
UMass Dartmouth has selected Qualtrics as our Internet survey tool. All Faculty and Staff have access to create and publish their own surveys. Students may also use Qualtrics under the direction of a Faculty or Staff member. This workshop covers the authoring and administration of surveys, as well as data collection. Question types are covered in detail, and survey logic is also included. No previous survey experience is necessary. Note that access to Qualtrics is managed by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment. Please contact Jonathan Bonilla at JBonilla1@umassd.edu at least three business days prior to this workshop to request access. Students must have a Faculty or Staff advisor request access on their behalf. This workshop will take place via Zoom. A meeting link will be sent to registrants via email on the morning of the event. Introduction to Excel
This workshop provides a practical introduction to Microsoft Excel. Hands-on practice with Excel allows participants to learn the skills needed to set up a spreadsheet, make keyboard entries, and perform calculations. Participants learn to produce worksheets such as budgets and payrolls. Formatting, using formulas and simple functions are introduced. No previous Excel experience is needed. Qualtrics Branching
Qualtrics has many features for skipping over questions that are not applicable to a particular respondent, and other more complex modes of branching. This workshop covers skip logic, display logic, choice randomization and question randomization. The survey flow diagram is explored, including block branching and branching based on random number generation. The Getting Started with Qualtrics workshop or equivalent experience is necessary. Excel Charts
Visual representation of data makes it easier to understand. This workshop provides a thorough exploration of charting with Excel. Participants create pie, line, stacked column, stock and scatter charts, and learn the proper uses of each. Custom axis formatting and trend lines are also covered. Excel Pivot Tables
This workshop provides a thorough exploration of the use of tables, pivot tables and pivot charts in Excel. Participants create pivot tables to summarize hundreds of rows of transactional data in just a few clicks, without complex formulas, or time-consuming grouping and reorganization.
