About Jeremy Jernegan

Jeremy Jernegan is a ceramic artist whose multi-disciplinary work explores the relationship between image and form in dimensional wall sculptures. Current wall pieces address aspects of water, climate change and the dual elements of risk and desire in one’s life. Utilizing a hybrid ceramic/printmaking technique he developed, his sculptural wall works feature drawn and photographic imagery on large tile forms, framed in stainless steel.

Solo exhibitions of his work have included “Manifest”, 2020 at the Capitol One Gallery in Richmond Virginia, “Dwell”, 2019 at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton Virginia, “Prescience” in 2008 and “Surge” in 2006 at Gallery Bienvenu in New Orleans, “Jeremy Jernegan, Ceramic Sculpture,” Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts, Pensacola, FL, “Lines of Position” 2005 at sandy Carson Gallery in Denver CO. His book on ceramic surfaces entitled “Dry Glazes” was published by Penn Press in 2009.

He is a Professor of Art at Tulane University since 1990, where he is head of the ceramics area, as well as serving as Department Chair and Associate Dean. He lives in New Orleans, LA, where he maintains Sycamore Studio.
