Professor Anupama Arora (English & Communication; Women’s & Gender Studies) published the co-authored monograph Screening Precarity: Hindi Cinema and Neoliberal Crisis in Twenty-first Century India. The open-access book examines how Hindi cinema reflects and shapes understandings of precarity in modern India.

Professor Brian Glyn Williams
(History) wrote an op-ed about contradictions within President Trump’s bid for a Nobel Peace Prize. Williams also shared commentary on the recent U.S. military operation that killed an al-Qaeda–linked terrorist in Syria and two pieces that discussed the peace treaty accepted by Hamas and Israel and the treaty's global implications.

Professor Gopala Vasudevan (Accounting & Finance) was featured in an article on starter credit cards, sharing insights into responsible credit-building and financial literacy.

Associate Firas Khatib (Computer & Information Science) co-published “Reconstructing biological molecules with help from video gamers” in Structural Biology. The paper examines the intersection of protein databases and citizen science through the interactive game Foldit. 

Associate Teaching Professor Christopher Jacobsen
(Accounting & Finance) shared insights in a recent article about the evolving nature of car insurance pricing.

Assistant Teaching Professor Basil H. Aboul-Enein (Health & Society) co-published “The Impact of Culture in Weight Loss Intervention Effectiveness Among Hispanic American Women with Overweight or Obesity: A Systematic Scoping Review” in Hispanic Health Care International. The article evaluates the effectiveness of culturally tailored interventions in improving health outcomes among Hispanic American women. 

The Police Department received $38,832 from the Edward J. Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program to enhance campus safety technology by purchasing and deploying mobile data terminals in police cruisers.

Professor Chad McGuire (Public Policy) served as a panelist at the Blue Future Conference 2025 in Plymouth, joining experts and public officials—including Bill Nye “the Science Guy”—on the Climate Resilience panel. The discussion focused on strategies for sustainable development and resilience in the region’s growing blue economy.

The Cricket Team captured the MSCL Pro40 Championship in the E Division, earning promotion to the D Division, and also won the 2025 NCCA Northeastern Regional Tournament in Boston, defeating Brown, Northeastern, and Harvard.

Lexi Baumgartner and Liz Roros (Marine Science and Technology MS Candidates) have been selected to present their research at the 19th annual Graduate Climate Conference hosted by MIT and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. The conference brings together emerging leaders in climate science to exchange ideas and advance the field.
