Assistant Vice Chancellor for Civic Engagement Matt Roy co-published "Engaging Community: A Toolkit for Reciprocal Teaching and Learning Beyond the Campus" for AAC&U and Campus Compact. The toolkit, which hundreds of schools across the country will use, features community-engaged learning best practices developed by the Leduc Center for Civic Engagement.
College of Arts & Sciences Associate Dean Jay Zysk co-published Shakespeare and Blended Learning. The book offers a distinctive perspective on Shakespeare pedagogy that connects best practices in classroom activity to online learning.

Assistant Teaching Professor Basil H. Aboul-Enein (Health & Society) recently co-published "School-based nutrition interventions in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan: A scoping review" in the Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition. This scoping review maps, characterizes, and synthesizes existing evidence on school-based nutrition interventions in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, identifying key implementation modalities, reported outcomes, and critical research gaps. Aboul-Enein also co-published "Dental Students' Perception of E-Learning during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic across the League of Arab States: A Region-Wide Scoping Review" in the Journal of International Oral Health. This region-focused review examines dental students' perceptions, acceptance, and challenges regarding e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on its practical implications for dental education and training across the League of Arab States.
UMass Dartmouth received nearly $730,000 from the Mass Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) to expand offshore wind workforce development and advance research supporting responsible industry growth. The funding includes $250,000 to support a two-year continuation of Closing the Experience Gap, led by Professor Daniel MacDonald (Estuarine & Ocean Sciences; Civil & Environmental Engineering).
Associate Professor Mwalim Peters (English & Communication) was recently featured in Chronicle for his music and media contributions to the Indigenous additions to the Freedom Trail through the White Snake Project. Peters wrote and recorded original music and produced music videos for two trail stops.
Assistant Teaching Professor Michelle Pinto (Nursing) was appointed to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health PANS/PANDAS Advisory Council, where she actively collaborates with state agencies and stakeholders to improve healthcare access, resources, and support for children with Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome.
Law student Maggie Boettiger '27 has been selected as a 2026 Gants Scholar, earning recognition for her commitment to public service and expanding access to justice. Named in honor of the late Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Ralph D. Gants, the Scholarship supports law students dedicated to careers in public service.
