National recognition highlights university’s commitment to supporting student veterans and military-connected learners
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has been recognized as a gold-ranked 2026–2027 Military Friendly® School, a distinction that highlights the university’s strong commitment to supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.
The Military Friendly® Schools designation is awarded to institutions that demonstrate meaningful and measurable success in creating sustainable and effective programs for the military community. UMass Dartmouth earned Gold status within the Tier 2 research institution category, placing it among the top-performing colleges and universities nationwide.

"At UMass Dartmouth, we work hard to provide resources, support systems, and opportunities that empower military-affiliated students to succeed academically and professionally."
Military Friendly® ratings are based on both public data and responses to a comprehensive annual survey, with scoring criteria developed in collaboration with an independent advisory council of experts in veteran education.
