Ebenezer, Amanda

Part one

My name is Amanda Ebenezer and I'm originally from Zimbabwe, a rich country in culture, history and resilience. Growing up in Zimbabwe taught me the value of community perseverance and education. Despite the economic and social challenges faced by many in my homeland I was raised to believe that with hard work and determination anything can be possible.

My family has always placed a high value on education because that's the way to a better future. I come from a loving and supporting household that includes my little brother, my cousins and other activities which include painting basketball and hanging out with my friends. And these are the people who have all encouraged me to pursue my dreams, The belief in me has fuelled my desire to continue my education abroad and make something meaningful out of the opportunities I've been blessed with and given.

Part two

My purpose at UMass Dartmouth

I chose to enroll at UMass Dartmouth because I wanted to be in a learning environment that is not only diverse but also intellectually challenging and can be supportive to students like myself who also partake in sports. I am currently pursuing accounting which is also my majorAnd I believe that this field will allow me to develop the skills that I need to be not only successful but wealthy with a good career and give back to the community that raised me.

As a UMass Dartmouth student I plan to stay here and focus on my academic excellence while also getting involved in the campus life maybe some student organisations and clubs and this may allow me to grow personally and professionally. I am committed to making the most of my time here and not just for myself but to show everyone else here that I am willing to put in the work to be successful.

Part three

I see myself becoming more talented in my art and more successful in term of schoolwork. I want to find myself being more engaged in my academics and build a solid foundation for my futureI want to inform meaningful connections with my professors and classmates explore leadership roles and contribute positive Habits around my community. My vision is to leave your mess up not only with a degree but experiences skills and relationships that prepare me for the real world and impact my career.
