My name is Brodie, and I’m from Wilbraham, Massachusetts. My family background is French and Scottish, Italian, and Slovakian. I live with my mom and have two siblings—a 14-year-old brother and an 18-year-old sister. Growing up in Wilbraham taught me that most kids are very wealthy and have it well off but in my case I had to learn the importance of hard work, family, and staying focused on my goals. My family has always supported me in everything I do, especially when it comes to school and sports. They always encourage me to keep pushing myself and to always do my best.
I decided to go UMass Dartmouth because I wanted to play football while I get my education. Sports but maily football has always been a big part of my life, and football helps me stay motivated and disciplined. I want to end up majoring in biology because I’m interested in how the human body works and how it heals. My main goal as a student is to get good grades, stay on top of my work, and make the most out of my time in college. I want to be able to improve how I study because sometimes I am lazy and I also need to learn as much as I can so I can prepare for my future.
In the future, I plan to become a physical therapist. I want to help people recover from injuries and be able to get back to what they where doing . It makes feel like I am purposeful to be able to help others heal and get back to doing what they love, just like I love playing football. My goal is to use what I learn at UMass Dartmouth to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I also want to be a good example for my brother and sister, showing them that hard work and education can help you reach your dreams. By helping people in my community stay healthy and active, I hope to make a difference in both my local area.
