I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but I grew up in Cape Verde. My parents are from Cape Verde, and I come from a small and very close family: my parents, my older brother, and me. My family has always supported and guided me in everything I do. My mother is a kind and loving person who always helps others and pushes me to be responsible. My father is calm, friendly, and very ambitious. He inspires me to work hard and dream big. My brother and I have a strong bond, and I have always looked up to him.

I picked UMass Dartmouth because I believe it will give me the best shot at being able to learn and grow the most. They have great programs available, and it's the same school that my brother attended. I plan to study business because I believe it will teach me how to become a great leader and maybe one day open up a business of my own.

After college, I plan to establish a productive career and develop my own business where I can help my community. I plan to influence other younger individuals to remain in school and follow their dreams. I'm focused on using the opportunities that come with education to open doors for other individuals as well and set the example. In the future, I intend to make my family proud and show that with hard work anything is possible. I am convinced that the education that I will acquire at UMass Dartmouth will enable me to create a brighter future for myself and change the world around me.
