I am born and raised from Braintree, Massachusetts, where I was came up in a family that reinforced values such as responsibility, hard work, and the support of one another. My background has empowered me to develop the work ethic I have today and influenced my need to work on behalf of the community. Growing up, commitment and self-improvement took on big meanings for me, and it's something that still helps to drive me as I continue my higher education. My family has really encouraged me to strive for more and pursue success in times when personal challenges were growing stronger.

Among the most biggest challenges I had to overcome, I would say, is managing my weight and learning to overcome procrastination. These challenges have taken a toll on my confidence and academic habits, yet they pushed me to develop better self-discipline and healthier routines overall. Through dedication and persistence, I have realized meaningful advances toward improvement in my physical health and time-management skills. Staying committed to my academic goals and taking steps toward a healthier lifestyle-that is something to be proud of. I continue to grow, staying involved in school and focusing on personal  accountability and self-improvement.

I chose to enroll at UMass Dartmouth because of its a school that fit my needs and had all for the tools i needed for success, aswell as an supportive learning environment. Participating in the College Now program gave me valuable exposure to what i would have to face with my major The structure of the program, along with access to academic resources and faculty support, helped me build confidence and better prepare for the transition to my major. These experiences confirmed that UMass Dartmouth was the right place for me to continue my education.

For me, college has differed from high school because it enables one to be more free and indpendent. Such an atmosphere has inspired me to be in school and always mindful of my goals. Currently, I am pursuing a Criminal Justice major, where I will have an opportunity to concentrate in the area of public safety, law, and community-based practices. Being part of UMass Dartmouth has kept me on my toes, ready for a task.

With my education, I want to give back to society by entering the firefighting profession, in which I can directly serve and protect my community. A change I would like to see take place in the world is better community safety and support systems regarding emergency response. I love being physical. I want to take this knowledge of criminal justice and apply it to hands-on training and physical preparedness to be a reliable first responder who can make a difference in life-or-death situations.

Investment in my education translates to an investment in a person committed to service, growth, and accountability. My career goal is to become a leading firefighter in service with integrity, discipline, and compassion. Such a path would help me give back to my family, support my immediate community of Braintree, and ultimately contribute toward public safety on a larger scale. I will be sure to commit myself to making a real difference in people's lives through continued education.
