Enrolling in college represents an important investment in my future and a commitment to personal growth. I come from a close-knit family that has always emphasized the importance of responsibility, hard work, and perseverance. Growing up, I learned early on the value of discipline and accountability, which have shaped my character and work ethic. My background has taught me to appreciate opportunities and to stay motivated even when faced with challenges.
Like many students, I have faced obstacles along the way, including balancing academics with personal responsibilities and adjusting to new expectations. Overcoming these challenges has helped me develop resilience and time-management skills. One of my greatest accomplishments has been pushing myself academically and taking advantage of opportunities such as college-level coursework while still in high school. I am also involved in school and community activities that have helped me build confidence, teamwork skills, and a strong sense of responsibility.

I chose to enroll at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth because of its supportive academic environment and strong programs that align with my career goals. Participating in the College Now program played a major role in my decision, as it allowed me to experience college-level expectations firsthand. The most helpful aspects of the program have been learning how to manage my time, communicate with professors, and handle the increased independence that college requires. These experiences made the transition to college smoother and more manageable.

College has been different from what I expected in high school, particularly in terms of independence and accountability. I am pursuing a degree in accounting, with a focus on building strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills. What motivates me to stay in school is the understanding that earning a degree will open doors to career opportunities and long-term stability. I am committed to staying focused, seeking academic support when needed, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally during my time at UMass Dartmouth.

I plan to use my education to make a positive contribution to society by working in the field of accounting and helping organizations operate efficiently and ethically. One change I would like to see in the world is greater financial transparency and responsibility, especially within businesses and communities. By applying my education responsibly, I hope to contribute to economic stability and trust within the organizations I work for.

Future investors should invest in my education because I am dedicated, motivated, and committed to using my skills to make a meaningful impact. My career goal is to become a professional accountant, supporting businesses while also providing stability and opportunity for my family. Through my future career, I aim to benefit my local community by contributing to economic growth and, on a larger scale, supporting ethical financial practices that positively impact society as a whole.
