The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's School of Law (UMass Law) has been recognized by the U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's "Best Part-time Law Programs" in its 2026 law school rankings. UMass Law ranked third among public law schools in New England, third among law schools in Massachusetts, and 27th among public law schools nationwide for part-time legal education.

According to U.S. News, the "Best Part-time Law Programs" rankings exclusively considered law schools with at least 20 students enrolled in part-time law programs and were based on peer assessment (70%) and selectivity (30%).

As the Commonwealth's only public law school, UMass Law takes pride in providing an excellent, affordable, and accessible legal education. The School's part-time program helps expand access to the legal profession for working professionals, caregivers, and students balancing other responsibilities while pursuing a law degree.
