The College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) has the pleasure to present the Emerging Young Artists 2016 Invitational Exhibition at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. This is the third annual high school invitational exhibition hosted by CVPA, which showcases the work of many of the region’s talented art students. The Emerging Young Artists 2016 Invitational Exhibitionrecognizes the exceptional merit of high school art students from twenty-nine high school art programs in Massachusetts.

The EYA 2016 exhibiting schools are: Abington High School, Acton Boxborough High School, Auburn High School, Belmont High School, Bishop Connolly High School, Bishop Feehan, Bishop Fenwick, Bishop Stang High School, Bourne High School, Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School, Brockton High School, CATS Academy Boston, Dartmouth High School, Fairhaven High School, Falmouth High School, Marlborough High School, New Bedford High School, Northampton High School, Old Rochester Regional High School, Pembroke High School, Revere High School, Seekonk High School, Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, Shrewbury High School, Silver Lake Regional High School, Somerset Berkley Regional High School, Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, Wachusett Regional High School, Wayland High School, West Bolyston Middle High School and Westport High School.

The participating schools were invited to be part of the exhibition for the long-term commitment they have demonstrated to art education and for the quality of work that comes from their art programs. The art teachers from these high schools were asked to select artwork in any media (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, film, video, printmaking, graphic design etc.) from their best students to be included in this group exhibition. The result is a marvelous exhibit that showcases the talents of these young artists, with over 100 artworks on display.
