Area residents invited to Community Forum at UMass Law on August 21 in advance of Keating-Sutter debate

SouthCoast residents are invited to attend a Community Forum at the University of Massachusetts School of Law's Francis J. Larkin Moot Courtroom on August 21 at 6:00 p.m. The Forum will bring members of the community together to make sure that the Ninth Congressional District Democratic debate to be held at UMass Dartmouth on August 30 is about the issues that concern residents most.

This August 30 debate will be the first and only time Congressman William Keating and Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter will meet face-to-face in the district. It has been organized by the SouthCoast Alliance, a consortium of media, education and non-profit organizations.

"We want to spark a discussion among our neighbors with this Forum," said Craig Dutra, chairman of the SouthCoast Alliance, which organized the debate. "The August 30 debate is a critical opportunity for SouthCoast residents to question the candidates, and this Forum will help us ensure the debate is driven by what residents want to know more about."
