Animation Career Review ranks CVPA's Design Department 45 out 400+ schools in United States

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) has been named one of the top 50 schools for animation and videogame design by Animation Career Review (ACR).

"We are honored to be included in Animation Career Review's Top 100 US Schools for Animation and Game Design," said CVPA Chancellor Professor of Design Harvey Goldman, who pointed out the digital media program is one of the oldest of its kind in the country.

"Our digital media program provides future creative leaders the skills and know how to meet the design and communication challenges of our digital age," Goldman added, acknowledging the quality of faculty, students and facilities that made the ranking possible: "This recognition is a tribute to the entire College."

In preparing this year's list, ACR considered more than 400 schools in the US that offered programs geared towards animation or game design, with the goal of giving students access to ample information so they can make an informed decision about the school they choose to attend and the program they pursue.

The variables ACR considered included: academic reputation, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of the program and faculty, value as it relates to tuition, and geographic location.
