Chancellor Divina Grossman to Offer Keynote Address at Annual International Women's Day Celebration

UMass Dartmouth Chancellor Divina Grossman will be the keynote speaker at the annual International Women's Day Celebration, Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at UMass Dartmouth's Claire T. Carney Grand Reading Room. Chancellor Grossman's remarks on "Women as Leaders in a Global Society" will be followed by a presentation of the 2014 Outstanding Women Awards.

The university community and general public are all welcome. Desserts, tea, and coffee will be served. International Women's Day is celebrated globally every year on March 8. This year's theme is "Equality for women is progress for all".

The celebration is co-sponsored by the International Student & Scholar Center (ISSC) and the Center for Women, Gender & Sexuality (CWGS). Originally founded in 1970 as the Women's Center, CWGS is a voice for women and the LGBTQIA+ community, with the purpose of eliminating barriers, diminishing prejudices, and creating a supportive climate and space for all.
