Republican Charlie Baker and Democrat Martha Coakley will participate in a gubernatorial debate at UMass Dartmouth on October 17. The debate is sponsored by the SouthCoast Alliance, a consortium of media, business, and community organizations.

The auditorium will be open to the media by 1 p.m. Media are asked to be in place by 3 p.m.
The doors to the Main Auditorium lower level will be closed at 3:40 p.m.

Moderator:
The debate will be moderated by UMass Dartmouth Political Science Chairperson Professor Shannon Jenkins. Professor Jenkins' research focuses on American public policy and state and local politics, with a specific emphasis upon state legislatures and political parties. She has published several articles on a variety of topics in American politics in journals such as Legislative Studies Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, and Urban Affairs Review.

Media members covering the debate should park in lot 4. Campus map.

Livestream info:
UMass Dartmouth will be streaming the debate live at umassd.edu, starting at 3:40 p.m.

Credentials:
All media planning to cover the debate are asked to clearly display proper media credentials.

Seating:
Seating will be provided for media in the back row of center section of the lower auditorium.

Cameras:
Limited space in the lower auditorium will be available for credentialed electronic media to set up cameras. Additional space for credentialed media will be available in the balcony.
Credentialed print photographers will be allowed limited movement on the lower level and upper level.
