UMass Law Review to Host Symposium on Veterans & the Law

Forum on Trends and Issues in Veterans & the Law Takes Place April 4

The University of Massachusetts School of Law at Dartmouth (UMass Law) Review will host a symposium on "Trends and Issues in Veterans & the Law" Friday, April 4, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the UMass Law Moot Court Room. 

The UMass Law Review is a co-curricular organization that publishes a student-reviewed journal. The law review publishes two issues per year. The January issue is a general-interest publication open to works on any legal topic. The May issue is a symposium format that features works relating to the "Trends & Issues" in a particular area of law. Each year's symposium topic is selected by the law review staff. Prior to publishing the issue, the law review hosts an annual roundtable symposium to promote academic discussion and debate on the chosen topic.

Michael Weinstein 
Founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation 

Honarable Mary Hogan Sullivan 
Presides over the Norfolk County Veterans Alternative Treatment Court 

Professor James Ridgway 
Professor of Law at the George Washington University Law School, scholar on veterans' issues and contributing author in our upcoming journal 

Professor Dan Nagin 
Director of Veterans Legal Clinic at Harvard University 

Massachusetts State Senator Mike Rush 
Iraq War Veteran and a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, Leading contributor to upcoming legislation on veterans' issues 

Kevin Lambert 
Director of Special Populations, Department of Veterans Services 

Attorney Don Andrejczyk 
Lead attorney at the Department of Veteran's Services
