UMass Dartmouth is among the best in nation for its online MBA in Healthcare Management degree program according toTheBestSchools.org. The online resource for campus and online education released its ranking of the “25 Best Online MBA in Healthcare Management Degree Programs” ranking UMass Dartmouth 11th in the U.S. and 2nd in Massachusetts for its online program offering. The ranking places UMass Dartmouth as the number one public institution in Massachusetts with this degree offering. In collaboration with the University’s College of Nursing, UMass Dartmouth offers an online Master of Business Administration degree with a Health Systems Management concentration. The program provides an introduction to one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy. 

The MBA program includes course options in Management of Healthcare Operations, Lean Healthcare Operations, Healthcare Economics and Managing Healthcare Finances, The U.S. Healthcare Delivery System, and Organizational Behavior and Leadership in Healthcare Organizations. Courses cover operational, behavioral, and policy topics in healthcare that are necessary to understand this complex field.  UMass Dartmouth also requires all MBA students to develop and maintain an eportfolio. The Charlton MBA requires 30 credit hours and can be completed in one year.

The on-site MBA program utilizes the technology and classrooms available at the hospitals within the Southcoast health systems network. Classes will be held at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and Tobey Hospital in the coming semester. The new master's in health care management program also will be offered at the hospitals in the coming year.
