Today crews put the finishing touches on the 24 piece mural on the west facing facade of UMass Dartmouth's Campus Center. The University community will come together to celebrate the installation of the mural at 4 p.m., Wednesday, October 21.

The mural entitled The Fabric of Nature and Industry was created from a color schematic of 56 custom mixed colors in addition to black and white. The influences for the designers included factories, gears, rivers, and global warming. The canary within the mural is a reference to human kind and all creatures and their survival.

The unveiling of mural is the latest initiative in the campus-wide Living Gallery Project designed to re-imagine the university as an artistic and architectural destination. The mural dimensions are approximately 48x12 ft

In May of last year the university announced that Muralist Angelina Marino Heidel and Collaborating Artist Joel Heidel of Marino Heidel Studios had been chosen as the finalist team for the UMass Dartmouth Mural Art Project following a national search.
