Researchers at UMass Dartmouth's School for Marine Science & Technology will showcase work at 2017 Boston Seafood Festival

School for Marine Science & Technology (SMAST) research will be on display at the 2017 Boston Seafood Festival, which returns to the historic Boston Pier on Sunday, August 13, 2017. Hosted by the Boston Fisheries Foundation, the annual event promotes the Boston Fisheries Foundation's mission to "preserve, sustain, and share our seafood and maritime heritage as essential to our common health."

The event also offers a unique opportunity for festival-goers to learn about the creative and innovative research projects SMAST scientists are conducting in the areas of fisheries and estuarine ocean sciences--locally and around the globe. This is the fourth consecutive year members of the SMAST community will exhibit a booth at the day-long festival to raise awareness of the cutting-edge work being performed by faculty, staff, and graduate students.

In addition to the various educational components, the festival includes chef demos and food samplings. Visit the Boston Seafood Festival website for more details. SMAST seeks booth volunteers. Please contact Crista Bank at cbank@umassd.edu to register as a volunteer.
