Last week, Video Data Bank, the art/digital media publishing and archiving organization based at the Art Institute of Chicago, announced their massive compilation Eduardo Kac: Telepresence, Bio Art & Poetry [1980-2010]. The three-disc box set and monograph includes contributions by a number of scholars, including CVPA faculty art historian Dr. Rebecca Uchill.

In addition to her active publishing work, Dr. Uchill has been actively engaged in a number of scholarly conferences during the 2017 fall season. She appeared as the concluding speaker for the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art "Artifacts of the Future” symposium, was a keynote respondent to Peter Galison for the Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities National conference, and co-organized a panel on “Civic Artisanship: Facilitating Learning at Contested Sites through Socially-Engaged Art and Design” at the New England Philosophy of Education Society conference.

On December 2, Dr. Uchill will appear as an invited speaker at the convening “Museum of the Avant-Garde or the Avant-Garde Museum? Collecting the Radical” in Lodz, Poland, alongside international scholars of avant-grade art and museums.
