Professor Julie Baker coached UMass Law’s National Moot Court team to a semi-final appearance and the Best Brief award in the regional round at Roger Williams University School of Law.

UMass Law Professor Julie Baker coached the National Moot Court Team to a successful weekend in the regional round at Roger Williams Law School.

UMass Law’s team of Kerina Silva, Flannery Rogers, and Mary Brigh Lavery earned the Best Brief Award, outpacing eight other regional law schools. The team also advanced to the semifinals, losing a close round to the eventual champion, Boston University.

The National Moot Court Competition is the oldest appellate advocacy competition in the country, sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the City of New York Bar Association.
