Honored at Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association conference

Joseph Bradley '83 was honored at an Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International conference held in Baltimore, MD, on May 14. AFCEA presented Bradley with its prestigious Distinguished Award for Excellence in Engineering, its highest award for engineering. He received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from UMass Dartmouth. 

AFCEA is a non-profit association serving the military, government, industry and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, information technology, intelligence and global security.

As member of the federal Senior Executive Service and current directorof Engineering and Technical Management and Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems, AF Life Cycle Management Center, Hanscom AFB, Bradley was honored for his numerous prodigious achievements in engineering and technical management spanning a 35-year career in service to this nation.  

Most notably, in his current position, he directed the growth of the DoD Cyber Intelligence information sharing community by 500 percent. He achieved monumental improvements in information sharing and collective action essential to effectively resolve and recover from devastating cyber-attacks, an imperative to safeguard the national Critical Information Infrastructure. As Director of Engineering and Technical Management for the AF Nuclear Weapons Center, Kirtland AFB, he significantly strengthened the systems engineering process in design, production and protection of US nuclear assets contributing incalculably to upholding the US Nuclear Strategic Deterrent capability, a national top priority. 

Bradley is a member of American MENSA and AFCEA, and holds Program Management Institute and International Information Systems Security Consortium certifications.
