UMass Law Professor and Director of the Immigration Clinic Irene Scharf has volunteered over the past few months as an on-site mentor at Justice Bridge-Boston’s Grand Rounds. A longtime supporter, Scharf was an on-site mentor during the first year of Justice Bridge’s operations, and still is an off-site mentor on immigration matters. As a mentor, Scharf helped train new lawyers to handle cases independently and manage an independent practice. Attorneys who complete the Justice Bridge program advance into the workforce with a competitive edge in today’s legal marketplace.

Justice Bridge serves individuals and small businesses who do not qualify for free legal services but cannot afford traditional market rates in civil law matters. Its program empowers recent law graduates to build strong practices representing clients with limited budgets, using the latest innovative techniques and advice from experienced mentors.
