Alumni Association Board announces new members and executive officers

The UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association Board recently welcomed new members to its Board of Directors and announced its executive officers for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

The UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association Board recently welcomed new members to its Board of Directors and announced its executive officers for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Matthew C. Witzgall ’15 will lead the board as president. He previously served as vice-president since 2018 and as a member since 2016. Witzgall is vice president of North American Operations at EMM Specialties. Alycia C. Busby ’12 is vice president after serving on the board since 2016. She is lead finance analyst at The Boston Consulting Group. Brian F. Higgins ’11 will hold the position of treasurer. Higgins is assistant director of human resources at Needham Public Schools. Justine Cameron '14, MPP '19 will serve as treasurer. She has been a board member since 2016 and works as a higher education student affairs specialist.

Seven new members joined the board, beginning their three-year terms: Joseph Carvalho ’88, Chris DiFranco’12, MBA ’15, Jeffrey Emond ’13, Margarida Silva ’89, Nanette Vega ’96, Julie Rodriques, MBA ’12 , and Catherine O'Keefe, PhD ’13.

The UMassD Alumni Association Board collaborates with the Office of Alumni Relations to further the mission of UMassD through alumni events, fundraising, and programming. The board also supports annual fundraising efforts such as the Corsair Challenge and distributes additional aid through scholarships. Recently, the board donated $10,000 to the Student Emergency Fund established to support students with financial needs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
