Two UMASSD Interior Architecture and Design Seniors selected as scholarship recipients.

About the Scholarship

As part of their commitment to the education of our student members, IIDA NE Education Fund announced the call of entries to our Student Scholarship. Two (2) New England design students will win a scholarship of $1,000 in recognition of their outstanding work. The scholarships will be awarded for the 2021 Spring Semester directly from IIDA, to their school.

Scholarship winners were also highlighted in IIDANE Student Spotlights on social media which gives students exposure to over 2,500 Followers including design firms, designers, and industry partners.

Scholarship Winners and Juror Responses

Students selected as scholarship recipients by a 3-person blind jury based off of sample portfolio and merit strengths in application responses.

Caroline Gresh

  • Exemplified a true passion for design and willingness to mentor others.
  • Impressed by her passion and focus on Universal Design and her ability to think through spaces from various plans incorporating strong use of texture and materiality.

Molly O’Donnell

  • Her submission spoke well to her leadership, interest in interior design, and initiative both at school and in her community. They were particularly impressed by her desire to influence and enhance the community through design and her passion and openness for learning.
  • Sample portfolio was very impressive. Each project had a well thought out concept, which was integrated through all of the design details.
