Beginning of the semester continues to offer engaging experiences

After an action-packed first week at UMass Dartmouth, members of the campus community have another week full of activities and important events.

Tuesday, September 7

10 a.m. – Beginning on September 7, the CVPA Campus Gallery will debut Norman Ives: Constructions & Reconstructions, a major exhibition of the famed artist and designer. Ives’s abstract typographic artworks, innovative posters, and brochures plus his elegant symbol designs inspired generations of designers and artists and will be on display until October 23.

7 p.m. – Women's Soccer takes on Springfield College.

Wednesday, September 8

11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. – Visit the Quad for the Study Abroad Fair. Students interested in studying abroad are encouraged to attend to learn about the details of individual programs. Advisors and students will be available to answer questions about applying and how to use financial aid. There will be a free shirt giveaway (while supplies last)!

1:30 - 5 p.m. – Make your way to the Quad for the Corsair Fair. CORSAIRFAIR 2021 is a great opportunity to check out the University's student clubs and organizations along with select departments and offices! Are you looking to get involved in the Corsair Community? Your involvement begins here!

6 p.m. – Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren will hold a town hall-style event in the amphitheater. The event is open to the public, including members of the UMassD community.

7 p.m. – Men's Soccer has their season home opener against Salve Regina University.

Thursday, September 9

8 a.m. – Add/Drop. September 9 is the last day to add, drop, and/or audit a class. Visit the Office of the Registrar website to learn more.

7 p.m. – Field Hockey goes against Salve Regina University.

7 – 11 p.m. –  Casino Night in Woodland Commons. Experience the fun and excitement of a Casino floor without having to leave campus! A free event for all students, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, and Texas Hold'em along with Bingo, a photo booth, and free food! Attendees will earn raffle tickets for prizes given at the end of the night as well as door prizes given out throughout the event.

Friday, September 10

7:30 p.m. - 12 a.m. – Drive In Double Feature in Lot 3. SAIL will be showing The Hitman's Bodyguard and the The Hitman's Bodyguard's Wife with free concessions available. You will need a car or FM tuner of some kind to listen to the movie.

September 11 Day of Service

Saturday, September 11

12 - 3 p.m. – The annual 9/11 Day of Service & Remembrance is taking place at Sharing the Harvest Community Farm at the Dartmouth YMCA. The Leduc Center for Civic Engagement event will have two volunteer opportunities from 12 to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. Sign up for the event via CorsairEngage.

12 p.m. – The Football team kicks off their home opener against Dean College.
