About David Hicks

David Hicks is an artist living and working in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California. Born in 1977, he was raised in the Central Valley town of Visalia, educated at California State University Long Beach where he earned his BFA in Ceramic Art, as well as Alfred University in New York where he received his MFA in Ceramic Art. Hicks’ work has found a constant reflection in the forms native to the landscape of the lands that surrounds his central California home. Pursuing his sculptural practice has led him to both academic opportunities as well as exhibitions in the US and abroad. Hicks’ work can be found in public and private collections such as the Boise Museum of Art, the World Ceramics Foundation’s Museum Collection of Contemporary Ceramics and the US Embassy Art Collection in Washington DC.
