UMassD once again excels in the latest U.S. News & World Report undergraduate rankings. Three of the largest undergrad majors Nursing, Psychology, and Computer Science — rank in the top quartile of their respective categories.
Sanford “Hew” Russell ’82 and Michelle McLean-Russell ’81 gifted the university $1M to provide additional support for students in the UMassD Deal. The Russell and McLean Education Endowment will offer scholarships for educational supplies.
Assistant Teaching Professor Basil H. Aboul-Enein (Health & Society) recently co-published "Adherence to the Mediterranean Diet Across the League of Arab States: A Systematic Review" in Healthcare. The article aims to identify and appraise existing evidence on the prevalence of Mediterranean Diet (MDiet) adherence in different Arab countries and identify sociodemographic, cultural, and behavioral factors associated with MDiet adherence.
More than 300 UMassD students volunteered at the YMCA Sharing the Harvest Community Farm were featured in a recent article describing how they harvested an estimated 4,000 pounds of butternut squash. Students contributed as a part of the Leduc Center's annual 9/11 Day of Service.
Associate Professor Elena Peteva (Art) presents her solo exhibition, Image, Material, Metaphor, at The Hunter Gallery of St. George’s School in Middletown, RI, September 1- 28. The exhibition’s reception will be held on Thursday, September 25, 6-8pm.
Assistant Professor Sarah Donelan (Biology) received an $598,958 grant for "Intergenerational effects of predation risk and resource identity on rocky shores: consequences for populations, communities, and ecosystems.” The research explores how resource (food) identity — a critical driver of prey responses to predation risk — impacts intergenerational effects of risk on rocky shores and the consequences of this risk-induced intergenerational plasticity for individuals, populations, communities, and ecosystems.
Jessica N. Pabón '01 was named President 2025-2027 of the National Women's Studies Association. The group is one of the most critical intellectual anchors for Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS).
