School of Law ranked in 15 categories, including part-time programs, international law, and public interest employment

Best Graduate Schools for Law 2026 U.S. News & World Report Rankings

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's School of Law (UMass Law) has been recognized in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report graduate rankings, earning placement among the nation's "Best Law Schools" and receiving rankings in 15 categories.

According to U.S. News, the "Best Law Schools" rankings were determined based on placement success and bar passage (58%), quality assessment (25%), selectivity (10%), and faculty and library resources (7%).

In addition to "Best Law Schools," UMass Law was recognized in specialty categories for: part-time law programs, business law, clinical training, constitutional law, contracts/commercial law, criminal law, dispute resolution, environmental law, health care law, intellectual property law, international law, tax law, trial advocacy, and law schools with the most graduates in public interest law.

"These rankings reflects UMass Law's mission-driven focus on justice, access, and service," said UMass Law Dean Sam Panarella. "We're incredibly proud of our graduates who are using their law degrees to pursue justice and make a difference in the communities that need them most."
