Dr. Wu's talk entitled, Trails of a Falling Leaf, is November 7 at 2 p.m. at the UMass Dartmouth School of Law, 333 Faunce Corner Road, North Dartmouth.

The UMass Dartmouth Claire T. Carney Library Associates will open the 2010/2011 season with Chinese Lifelines featuring Chancellor Professor Emeritus Chang Ning Wu (Carl). Dr. Wu's talk entitled, Trails of a Falling Leaf, is November 7 at 2 p.m. at the UMass Dartmouth School of Law, 333 Faunce Corner Road, North Dartmouth.

Dr. Wu will reminisce on his childhood in China, his struggles as a foreign student and his reunification with his family. After settling in Southeastern Massachusetts in 1963 and raising his children, Dr. Wu embarked on a root-seeking journey back to China on behalf of his deceased parents, a symbolic return of a falling leaf.  Dr. Wu will also talk about his experiences as a faculty member during the earliest years of the university until his retirement.

Dr. Wu received the 1994 Teacher of the Year award in recognition of his knowledge of chemistry and dedication to students. A reception honoring Dr. Wu and Mrs. Wu will be held immediately following the program.

Admission to the program is free and open to the public.  For directions to the UMass School of Law Dartmouth campus visit: http://law.umassd.edu/index.cfm/page/Directions For additional information contact dberner@umassd.edu or call 508 999-8671.
