A new partnership between UMass Dartmouth and North Shore Community College streamlines the path from associate to bachelor’s degree in nursing.
UMass Dartmouth and North Shore Community College have established a dual admission agreement that provides nursing students with early, conditional admission to UMass Dartmouth's online RN-BS program while completing their associate degree.
Under the agreement, North Shore Community College nursing students who successfully complete the associate degree in nursing, and meet admission criteria, will have a clear pathway into UMass Dartmouth’s online RN–BS degree completion program.
After earning their associate degree and RN licensure, students will continue their education fully online through UMass Dartmouth, offering the flexibility needed to balance coursework with professional and personal commitments as working nurses.
In addition to this empowered academic pathway, the community college graduates may also benefit from UMass Dartmouth Online's Success by Degrees program, which offers an eligible tuition credit to community college graduates enrolled in fully online undergraduate programs.
“UMass Dartmouth is committed to supporting nursing students from the start of their academic journey through degree completion,” said Anne Berriault, Assistant Director of Admissions for UMass Dartmouth Online. “This partnership with North Shore Community College reflects our shared commitment to access, affordability, and student success.”
As UMass Dartmouth strengthens ties with regional community colleges, this agreement opens new opportunities for aspiring nurses and plays a key role in shaping the future of the nursing profession in the region.
