The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMass Dartmouth) and Berkshire Community College (BCC) are pleased to announce a new articulation agreement that provides a seamless transfer pathway for nursing students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This agreement enhances opportunities for BCC students in the Associate in Science in Nursing program to continue their education through UMass Dartmouth’s fully online RN-BS program.

The agreement allows eligible BCC graduates to transfer up to 71 credits, 38 nursing portfolio credits and 33 non-nursing credits, toward their BS in Nursing at UMass Dartmouth. This initiative reflects a shared commitment between the two institutions to support the academic and professional advancement of nurses, ensuring they receive high-quality, flexible education that meets the demands of the evolving healthcare industry.

“UMass Dartmouth Online continues to broaden its reach through its online programs to support the continued education of adult learners in the community. UMass Dartmouth's RN-BS program offers the flexibility today’s nurses need,” said Anne Berriault, Assistant Director of Admissions for UMassD Online. “We feel it is important to partner with Berkshire Community College, to offer their graduating nursing students a pathway to continue their education seamlessly, positioning themselves for career growth and leadership roles in nursing.”

The articulation agreement outlines a mutual commitment to academic coordination, curricular alignment, and joint advising to ensure student success. Both institutions will also work collaboratively to promote the program and provide necessary guidance to prospective transfer students. Additionally, maintaining up-to-date course equivalencies and ensuring program alignment will be a priority for both institutions to guarantee a smooth transfer experience for students.
