CEN 560: Climate Resilience Engineering - fall

Prerequisite: CEN 304 & CEN 325

A study of how anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gasses are causing global climate change and how climate change will impact civil engineering systems. The concept of resilience and how civil engineers can both help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt their designs to improve their resilience to climatic extremes. Will cover all areas of civil engineering including: water supply and treatment, stormwater management, electric utilities, transportation, the built environment and coastal infrastructures.
