Prior to Orientation you will complete an online math placement exam that will test your ability in Algebra (and Calculus for Engineering and Chemistry majors). By passing this exam, you will be placed into an appropriate math course for your first semester in the fall. If you do not pass the exam, it will be necessary to take a preparatory math course over the summer or first semester. You will be given further information upon completion of your math placement exam.
Testing sign up begins March 1. Once you have paid your enrollment deposit, wait five business days and log onto the following website to register for testing on one of the available test dates: http://placement.umassd.edu/.
