POR 320: Language and gender in society - fall
General Education requirement: 4A - Human Questions
Study of how language shapes and reflects gender relations across different sociocultural contexts. Students explore how linguistic practices contribute to construction of gender norms, stereotypes, and inequalities. Through critical analysis of spoken, written, and digital communication, the course investigates topics such as gender identity and language use, gender in interactions, and the intersectionality of language, gender, race, class, and sexuality.
